About This Return
This isn't our first time in the Japanese market.
A few years ago, when JODA's charging products first entered Japan, we received a lot of feedback—praise, but also challenges. Japanese users are famously particular: products must not only work well, but last long; not only be functional, but also "stay out of the way." Those seemingly demanding standards are, in fact, exactly what we've always aspired to.
This September, we've decided to return through Makuake with a completely redesigned portable power bank.
Why a Power Bank
We've observed a contradiction: power banks keep getting larger in capacity, but also heavier; packed with more features, but also more complicated. Many people end up leaving them in drawers, choosing instead to "take their chances" that their phone will last until they get home.
The essence of a power bank should be "peace of mind"—freeing you from constantly monitoring your battery percentage, from hunting for outlets in coffee shops. To achieve this, it must be light enough that you're willing to carry it daily, fast enough that charging doesn't feel like waiting, and reliable enough that you never worry about it failing when you need it most.
That's the problem we're trying to solve this time.
Why Makuake
Makuake is more than just a crowdfunding platform—it's a space for product dialogue. Here, supporters aren't merely buyers; they're early participants and witnesses to a product's development.
For us, having already experienced the Japanese market, this return requires listening more than anything else. We want to understand the real needs Japanese users have for portable charging, to hear about use cases and pain points that don't show up in product specs.
Makuake gives us this opportunity—not to push a product unilaterally, but to refine it together with people who genuinely care.
What We're Working On
This power bank is still in final testing, but we can share this: we've found a new balance between "light" and "fast." It won't be the highest capacity on the market, but it will be the one you're most willing to carry every day.
When we officially launch in September, we'll reveal complete product specifications and early-bird support options. If you also believe that "a good power bank shouldn't be a burden," we invite you to see our answer on Makuake.
